1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith

This 17th century document was formed by a group of Pastors and Theologians to be the doctrinal standard of Baptist Church's coming out of the Reformation. It is an excellent standard, but not inspired by God. It is a sound authority on the Baptist Tradition yet subordinate to the Holy Scripture, for that alone is our absolute authority. It serves as a confirmation of our Faith, a means of sanctification in the Christian life, and an assistance in all matters of controversy. Hornerstown Baptist is currently studying this document in order to ground us in historic Baptist teaching, principles, and interpretation of Scripture. Below are brief audio lectures of 10-15 minutes on various parts of the confession for you to join us in learning our traditional beliefs of Holy Scripture.
